One day Workshop: Exploring Lino Printmaking for Beginners (Feb)

Simplifying the Art of Printmaking

A one-day Workshop

Class timing: 10.30am - 4pm

(with 1 hour for lunch)

Sign up and come along to explore the pure satisfaction and childish glee that you can get from Linocut Printmaking in a beautiful studio with a group of other like-minded folk.  

This is your chance to spend the day in a fully equipped working Artist's Studio and enjoy feeling like it was your own. We will spend the morning exploring a design for the prints you want to make - no need to know what you're doing or even to arrive with an idea fully formed - I will provide lots of inspiration and help you settle on an idea that will produce some beautiful prints. I will then talk to you about the materials and tools we'll be using, and show you how to carve your lino plate - if you haven't done it before, you'll be amazed by just how pleasing this process is. Once you're ready and your design is fully carved we will spend the afternoon printmaking - you will have access to different print presses, a range of inks and lots of different papers etc. to experiment with - it's a full day and it's a LOT of fun!

All materials are provided, there's a variety of teas, coffee and biscuits in abundance - I can provide you with an apron, but the messier your clothes are the better! You will end the day bursting with new information, a completely new understanding of how fun printmaking is to work with and an excitement for the next print you're going to make!

This course welcomes all levels of adult student (16+, students of 14 or 15 are welcome with an accompanying adult student), great for first-time artists, 'rusty' artists & accomplished artists alike. 

Laurel Studio is small (but perfectly formed) which means the amount of students is capped at 6 per class - this may mean that these sessions sell out fairly quickly, please be aware of this when thinking about booking your space 😊

Due to an extremely small admin team of 1, the time it takes up and the financial difficulty it causes, I am unable to offer refunds / transfers to another session / gift vouchers for orders made in error, changed plans or a changed mind. Please bear this in mind BEFORE placing an order.

I am unable to offer refunds / transfers to another session / gift vouchers for forgotten/missed sessions which are the responsibility of the purchaser.

In the extremely rare case where a refund is issued there will have to be a service charge taken for my time and the payment/booking charges I will have incurred.

If it's my fault:

If you're unable to attend the session through a mishap/error on my part, I will make sure you are provided with a voucher to attend any forthcoming sessions of the same type - alternatively I will issue a refund or find another solution.

The income from all my sessions is used to pay for my time, models, utitlities, business related charges, materials & overheads.
